National Cherry Blossom Festival Washington, D.C.
100th Anniversary Celebration
This is an image of a Sargent Cherry Blossom that I took while visiting Washington, D.C. with my family in Mid-March. We took our little day trip during Peek Blossom of the 2012 National Cherry Blossom Festival. Peek Blossom came much sooner than expected this year, because of the warmer than average temperatures! Sargent Cherry trees are one of the less prevalent Cherry trees found around the Tidal Basin and I just love the fragrance, vibrant coloring and beauty of this tree. It is currently my desktop background because it gets me exciting about spring, the renewal of plants, and flowers blooming after the winter and is a great representation of God's beauty.
You can read more about our trip (and see more awesome images) on the following blog post!
